HART Theatre’s Waynesville campus has a full run from early September into the holidays. The calendar begins with the backstage comedy Noises Off from September 4–27, followed by The Wild Party October 2–25 and the Academy production Frozen Jr. November 13–22. December brings It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play and My Favorite Christmas. HART also lists its Moonlight Enchantment fundraising gala for September 12.
Downtown before the curtain
For a classic Main Street start, Waynesville Main Street Diner covers all-day breakfast as well as lunch and dinner. Sweet Onion leans toward regional cuisine and a sit-down lunch or dinner. Singletree Heritage Kitchen, in the historic Walker Station area, builds its menu around Carolinas food traditions.
Keep it casual
Dough Boys Pizza & Wings works for a relaxed meal or takeout. Closer to Lake Junaluska, Crepe & Custard offers sweet and savory crepes, custard and lighter choices near the walking trail.
Turn the night into a mountain stay
Cataloochee Ranch in Maggie Valley is the destination option: dining, lodging and high-country experiences in one place. Allow extra driving time between Maggie Valley and the theater, particularly in poor weather.
Plan backward from showtime
- Buy or confirm theater tickets through HART and review its cancellation policy.
- Check the restaurant’s current hours and reservation guidance directly.
- Allow time to park and reach the theater; do not treat an online map’s minimum drive time as a dinner schedule.
- If a show or meal is the centerpiece of a trip, confirm both again on the day.
